Comic Con, the more and more its in the past, I seem to forget all the wonderful memories I have experienced that week. Being a volunteer there year after year, it seems to be nice being around the same people celebrating this wonderful occasion. With this in mind, let's see what I do remember (compiling all of the week into one little blog)...

Welcome to WonderCon 2014, where the inner comic comes alive. Originally, this event started out in Norcal in the Oakland and San Francisco Bay Area in the 80's and just recently have been brought down to the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA 2 years ago. Before they changed it to "WonderCon," it use to be called " Wonderful World of Comics Convention." Ever since San Diego Comic-Con pretty much took over, it has gained a wider audience and is beginning to include entertainment outside of comics. We definitely will know that this convention will always keep that comic spirit. On the other side, let's jump in to what I did for those two days. I actually went to this event on Thursday, the day before opening to volunteer. Since I'm a volunteer, I got bunched into Pre-Registration. This is where I gave out the badges for the fans that wanted to pick up their badges prior to the event. Doing so, will allow them for earlier entry into WonderCon without having to wait in line for badges and then entry. Honestly, that would suck. Haha. Below are the badges and the lovely view I had for the 2 days volunteering... *Note: I took the pictures when no fans were around so that I don't get in trouble. :) If you were thinking, yes! I had so much power holding all those badges, but you know...I'm a good person! (...I don't know why I said that...) After that Thursday, I just went home and then, waited until the next day. in a FLAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSHHHHHHH [superhero reference] it was Friday. Both me and Jerry went on that Friday to this event. Jerry was part of the staff for programming and I was volunteering again for Pre-Reg. Honestly, it was too much fun. I met so many different people: a bunch of people who cosplayed, some who love the shows I like, someone who had the same wallet as me [btw, it's a coach wallet. who would of thought], some people from the UK, etc. It was just a nice experience to meet so many people. I swear, for those 3 hours I was just constantly passing out badges, I spoke to an easy 500 people. Once my fun job was done, it was time for me to explore. [I regret not taking any pictures of the cosplayers. Everyone did such a good job... :(] ***Warning! There was so many points where I got lazy to take pictures, but I guess it's a sign that you must go next year! After all of this craziness, there are some booths that I want to mention... One of the coolest geekiest fun extravaganza stuff... LOOTCRATE. If you never heard of them, it is pretty cool. I didn't know they were going to be here this year, but glad to see them. So pretty much you pay "how ever much" it is a month and you get a cool little package like the ones above. The more you buy, the cheaper it gets. Every month, there is a new theme for the crates and so, the wonderful things you get inside the boxes is based off of that theme. Pretty sweet, right? You guys can Google them and check out more info on it, if ya want. And next is...Sire's Crown. Sire's Crown is one of those super cool eye wear companies that is completely different. At least, they are to me. They have a purpose, their product is different, and they are really cool people. Their goal out of this company is to plant over 100,000 trees through "Trees For The Future." I think that alone, should get some attention. Jerry and I met the guys that started the company here and they showed us their product. They make eye wear, either eyeglasses or sunglasses that consist of wood. Their product ranges from different types of wood [too many wood] and even some are a composite of wood and ________ [I forgot ;p], which will allow it to be easily bendable. Having that ability, will allow your eye wear to be resistant to breaking, which is pretty freakin' cool. On top of that, for what you're getting, their pricing is pretty good. You will get to look swagalicious and no one will get to know where you got them [unless they read my blog :)]. They have multiple designs available, and even, just for WonderCon, they sold their comic-strip looking eye wear. [Check the pictures below]. If you guys are interested in checking them out, go to sireseyewear.com. They really have a good thing going for them because of this. I'm already planning on getting some. Hopefully they remember! *Note: Too scared to take more pics of their booth. Lol. Maybe, if they're up for it, I can actually have a full blog post about their company. On the line is....STEPPIE! Alright, STEPPIE has some pretty cool clothing. It's very kawaii! :) As we were walking down the rows, I stopped onto this place. First, I noticed their wooden sign and you can't say "No" to a panda wearing eyeglasses. They have a pretty dope collection of stuff that involve different animals and even NINJAS! Since that, I couldn't help but to buy a shirt! It's the maroon shirt with the "I AM A NINJA." I didn't get to chat with the creator of this brand, but just from the look of the clothing, she seems like a really chill person. If you want to check out her clothing company, go to thesteppie.com. It is worth it! After that, I saw a booth that looked quite familiar...SQUID KiDS INK. I was first introduced to this brand from a really good friend of mine, Hermes. He works at Pop Monster, a toy store located out in Torrance, CA [I will blog about them later...]. Ever since I bought my first toy from them, I always enjoyed his work. I eventually bought one of the hats he brought to Comic-Con 2 years ago. [If you've seen me wear it, you will definitely know what I'm talking about,. but if not, it's the grey SQUIBS hat]. His work is quite enjoyable with the different SQUIBS hats and plushies and the 10-DOH! toys. I like the art with each 10-Doh! and I actually prefer the Blind-box for this collection because it makes it easier with deciding which one to get! Haha. So, if your'e into collecting toys, you should check out his stuff @ squidkidsink.bigcartel.com. Definitely sweet! *Note: Soon enough, I will have a blog post of his company up on the page. And Lastly...my friend's booth. Deeten. [Sorry David. Don't be mad! I know my pictures suck. :( ] Back to the blog... Alright. David, also known as "Deeten" is my girlfriend's friend who actually does Art! All sorts of art, from paintings, sketches, toys, etc. You name it, if you couldn't tell by the pictures. He's attack a wide genre of art and culture, that there will be something that you like of his. From what I've noticed is that a lot of his toys are closely related to a steam-punk feel, which adds a new touch to toys. Of artists I know, I think he is the only one that works that way. Which is great! I know this short post on Deeten's artwork fun isn't good enough to truly explain his work, so soon enough, I will have an interview with him and get his opinion on his works and more. Thanks DeeTEN! If you want to check out his stuff, go to deeten.storenvy.com. Some of the goodies that he featured at WonderCon are available there, even the one I got. [It's the Pressurized Beetle Necklace]. In the end of it all, the two days I was at WonderCon was quite fun and as the days go by, now I can't wait until it's Comic-Con! Hope to see all these booths and more there, especially you readers! :)
