Comic Con, the more and more its in the past, I seem to forget all the wonderful memories I have experienced that week. Being a volunteer there year after year, it seems to be nice being around the same people celebrating this wonderful occasion. With this in mind, let's see what I do remember (compiling all of the week into one little blog)...

This is the 1st to my many interviews that I like to call "21 Questions!"
In this blog, I interviewed one of my ninjas, Hermes. Doing this interview, will allow you guys to understand Hermes on a real level. And soo.... Me: What is your name? Hermes: I'm known for many names on YouTube! I'm normally known as Bboy Infinite but for the sake of this channel I am HERMSAUR or Hermes Me: What did you start on YouTube? Hermes: Originally I was a Bboy (BREAKDANCER) YouTuber but I wanted to do another channel for gaming primarily Pokemon! Me: Why Pokemon? Hermes: As a kid I always LOVED pokemon! I'm sure even you Mr. Thomas would know that! I've been a big fan ever since I received this VHS tape that they sent me in the mail introducing the concept of pokemon before the anime came out and the video game! I was so hyped! Once red and blue came out into America I grabbed my copy and fell in love ever since. Me: What is the purpose of this channel? Hermes: The purpose of this channel is to just entertain people with pokemon content and possibly other video game content. I for one enjoy watching other poketubers like Nappy, Shofu, Shady Penguin, and etc! There are a lot of poketubers out there as well and I felt like HEY! I CAN COMMENTATE OR NARRATE MY STUFF! IM EXCITING SOMETIMES! WHY NOT! Plus it's always something I wanted to do! Me: What inspired you to do this? Hermes: Actually watching King Nappy on YouTube and Shady Penguin! They inspired me to start because I watched them when they were starting to get large on YouTube. So I felt like it was possible to do it too! Me: What is your favorite Pokemon and why? Hermes: Bulbasaur has always been my favorite pokemon! Ever since the first gen days when everyone was on Charmander and Squirtle's nuttsacks, I wanted to be different so I chose Bulbasaur! People would talk about how he's so weak but overall he's actually quite powerful compared to the other two. Even to this day, even if his mega evo looks a bit silly, he's one of the most powerful Pokemon out there! Team Bulbasaur!! Me: What kind of videos are you posting on YouTube? I know you are showing Pokemon and everything on Pokemon, but if someone wants to check out your page for a reason, like battles, cheats, porn, i dunno., what would they find on your page? Hermes: As of now I'm actually just doing Pokemon Let's Plays w/ Challenges such as nuzlockes and rom hacks. Also I'm doing online WiFi battles whether if it on Pokemon X and Y or Pokemon Showdown. Soon I'll actually be doing tutorials on how to make good pokemon teams and pokemon builds. But overall that's pretty much what I'm doing! Me: Of all of the Pokemon games around, not just the one's on the Gameboys or whatnot, which one is your favorite and why? Hermes: Honestly, that's a really hard question! I enjoyed all of the generations of Pokemon 1-6. But I am a big fan of fourth generation! Especially with the remake of Heart Gold and Soul Silver! I loved it! I also LOVE LOVE LOVE the newest generation which is 6 GEN X/Y only because of the new competitive scene since I am fairly new to the battle scene! Me: What's your All-Star Pokemon team and why? Hermes: For the most part my team is mixed. I try to be diverse and use as much pokemon as I'd like! Even if Bulbasaur is my favorite pokemon, he isn't a Pokemon i would use competitively(Venuasaur as well). I Switch it up from using Mega Pinsir, to a Mega Charizard X and etc. I guess it really depends what I'm feeling out at the time. I just usually try to balance everything out! Me: I know Bulbasaur is your favorite Pokemon, but If you were a Pokemon, which one would you be? Hermes: I'd probably be either Greninja or Gengar! Being that those two are probably next to being my favorite! But there is another series I'm coming out with, with me dressed up as a pokemon, wrecking havoc which will be kept secret for now. Me: How many times do you poo a day? Hermes: I poop 3-4 times a day depending on what I ate that day. Me: Who's your favorite celebrity and why? Hermes: I don't really have a favorite celebrity but it would have to be Morgan Freeman. Me: If Facebook and Myspace had a fight, who would win? Hermes: In a street fight Myspace because it's for the ghetto people. In the government it would be Facebook hahahha idk. Me: Which came first, vampires or werewolves? Hermes: They came at the same damn time. Me: If you would be a toy, what would you be? Hermes: I would be a dildo. It would be fantastic Me: Ever thought of stripping for money? Hermes: How do you think I got this extra fifty cents in my pocket maaaannn. Me: What's your dream job? Hermes: Doing this YouTube stuff is my dream job. It's a matter of me actually taking steps into making it better and building an audience. Me: If you could make up the story of how Pokemon were born, how would it go? Hermes: Through genetic experiments with cloning animals. Me: Who's Hitler? Hermes: That one guy who had a nice mustache. Me: Microsoft or Apple? Hermes: Phones and tablets - Apple. Computers and laptops - Microsoft. Me: If everyone jumped off a bridge, would you jump too? Hermes: Hell No! Lol. Thank you Hermes for joining me on this episode of 21 Questions. Hopefully soon enough, this will become video segments instead of blogs. I think it will more fun that way. ;p So if you guys enjoyed that or want to check out his stuff, check out the link below or just type HERMSAUR or Bboy Infinite on YouTube and you will find his stuff there. HERMSAUR: https://www.youtube.com/user/HERMSAUR Bboy Infinite: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPLubMbAdlSwLmWIjIbdbMw Welcome to WonderCon 2014, where the inner comic comes alive. Originally, this event started out in Norcal in the Oakland and San Francisco Bay Area in the 80's and just recently have been brought down to the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA 2 years ago. Before they changed it to "WonderCon," it use to be called " Wonderful World of Comics Convention." Ever since San Diego Comic-Con pretty much took over, it has gained a wider audience and is beginning to include entertainment outside of comics. We definitely will know that this convention will always keep that comic spirit. On the other side, let's jump in to what I did for those two days. I actually went to this event on Thursday, the day before opening to volunteer. Since I'm a volunteer, I got bunched into Pre-Registration. This is where I gave out the badges for the fans that wanted to pick up their badges prior to the event. Doing so, will allow them for earlier entry into WonderCon without having to wait in line for badges and then entry. Honestly, that would suck. Haha. Below are the badges and the lovely view I had for the 2 days volunteering... *Note: I took the pictures when no fans were around so that I don't get in trouble. :) If you were thinking, yes! I had so much power holding all those badges, but you know...I'm a good person! (...I don't know why I said that...) After that Thursday, I just went home and then, waited until the next day. in a FLAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSHHHHHHH [superhero reference] it was Friday. Both me and Jerry went on that Friday to this event. Jerry was part of the staff for programming and I was volunteering again for Pre-Reg. Honestly, it was too much fun. I met so many different people: a bunch of people who cosplayed, some who love the shows I like, someone who had the same wallet as me [btw, it's a coach wallet. who would of thought], some people from the UK, etc. It was just a nice experience to meet so many people. I swear, for those 3 hours I was just constantly passing out badges, I spoke to an easy 500 people. Once my fun job was done, it was time for me to explore. [I regret not taking any pictures of the cosplayers. Everyone did such a good job... :(] ***Warning! There was so many points where I got lazy to take pictures, but I guess it's a sign that you must go next year! After all of this craziness, there are some booths that I want to mention... One of the coolest geekiest fun extravaganza stuff... LOOTCRATE. If you never heard of them, it is pretty cool. I didn't know they were going to be here this year, but glad to see them. So pretty much you pay "how ever much" it is a month and you get a cool little package like the ones above. The more you buy, the cheaper it gets. Every month, there is a new theme for the crates and so, the wonderful things you get inside the boxes is based off of that theme. Pretty sweet, right? You guys can Google them and check out more info on it, if ya want. And next is...Sire's Crown. Sire's Crown is one of those super cool eye wear companies that is completely different. At least, they are to me. They have a purpose, their product is different, and they are really cool people. Their goal out of this company is to plant over 100,000 trees through "Trees For The Future." I think that alone, should get some attention. Jerry and I met the guys that started the company here and they showed us their product. They make eye wear, either eyeglasses or sunglasses that consist of wood. Their product ranges from different types of wood [too many wood] and even some are a composite of wood and ________ [I forgot ;p], which will allow it to be easily bendable. Having that ability, will allow your eye wear to be resistant to breaking, which is pretty freakin' cool. On top of that, for what you're getting, their pricing is pretty good. You will get to look swagalicious and no one will get to know where you got them [unless they read my blog :)]. They have multiple designs available, and even, just for WonderCon, they sold their comic-strip looking eye wear. [Check the pictures below]. If you guys are interested in checking them out, go to sireseyewear.com. They really have a good thing going for them because of this. I'm already planning on getting some. Hopefully they remember! *Note: Too scared to take more pics of their booth. Lol. Maybe, if they're up for it, I can actually have a full blog post about their company. On the line is....STEPPIE! Alright, STEPPIE has some pretty cool clothing. It's very kawaii! :) As we were walking down the rows, I stopped onto this place. First, I noticed their wooden sign and you can't say "No" to a panda wearing eyeglasses. They have a pretty dope collection of stuff that involve different animals and even NINJAS! Since that, I couldn't help but to buy a shirt! It's the maroon shirt with the "I AM A NINJA." I didn't get to chat with the creator of this brand, but just from the look of the clothing, she seems like a really chill person. If you want to check out her clothing company, go to thesteppie.com. It is worth it! After that, I saw a booth that looked quite familiar...SQUID KiDS INK. I was first introduced to this brand from a really good friend of mine, Hermes. He works at Pop Monster, a toy store located out in Torrance, CA [I will blog about them later...]. Ever since I bought my first toy from them, I always enjoyed his work. I eventually bought one of the hats he brought to Comic-Con 2 years ago. [If you've seen me wear it, you will definitely know what I'm talking about,. but if not, it's the grey SQUIBS hat]. His work is quite enjoyable with the different SQUIBS hats and plushies and the 10-DOH! toys. I like the art with each 10-Doh! and I actually prefer the Blind-box for this collection because it makes it easier with deciding which one to get! Haha. So, if your'e into collecting toys, you should check out his stuff @ squidkidsink.bigcartel.com. Definitely sweet! *Note: Soon enough, I will have a blog post of his company up on the page. And Lastly...my friend's booth. Deeten. [Sorry David. Don't be mad! I know my pictures suck. :( ] Back to the blog... Alright. David, also known as "Deeten" is my girlfriend's friend who actually does Art! All sorts of art, from paintings, sketches, toys, etc. You name it, if you couldn't tell by the pictures. He's attack a wide genre of art and culture, that there will be something that you like of his. From what I've noticed is that a lot of his toys are closely related to a steam-punk feel, which adds a new touch to toys. Of artists I know, I think he is the only one that works that way. Which is great! I know this short post on Deeten's artwork fun isn't good enough to truly explain his work, so soon enough, I will have an interview with him and get his opinion on his works and more. Thanks DeeTEN! If you want to check out his stuff, go to deeten.storenvy.com. Some of the goodies that he featured at WonderCon are available there, even the one I got. [It's the Pressurized Beetle Necklace]. In the end of it all, the two days I was at WonderCon was quite fun and as the days go by, now I can't wait until it's Comic-Con! Hope to see all these booths and more there, especially you readers! :)
Welcome to this rough' tough'n comic book store. Haha. All of that together, sounds kind of lame, but this store isn't. They have everything from different comics of the tales of THOR to the Manhattan Project, there is always something that someone would like here. They have a bunch of Yugioh or Magic cards there too. Definitely can't forget the models/figures that they have. The store and collectibles are shown below: The workers are nice and would always help us out if we had any questions. If you are in Normal Heights in the SD area, come over here. |
