Murphy's Ranch was Part 2 of the trip. This trip was too crazy and jam packed that we didn't get closer to what Murphy's Ranch truly is, but we will tell you the way that we took. If you don't know, Murphy's Ranch is a place that was held by people who followed the Third Reich in the 1930s. They established a ground where they can hide out until "America fell to the Nazis," which didn't happen. In 1941, the American government found out and raided that place, aka killed everyone there. From then on, it became a nice place to go trailing or just pure artestry. So when you pull up, you realize that you are going through a residential area, but it's kinda weird at first, but you will eventually figure out where to go. As you walk down the hill, you will will see a fork in the path, and go through the dirt. Once you do, you will see this: Once you pass those, at least so far...you know you're going the right direction. You take the path all the way down and pass by this: Eventually, you see a break in the gated fence on your left. That break will have stairs going straight down and so you take them. *FYI: There are multiple breaks like the one below, but apparently we missed the right one and took the path anyways. I think the right one is actually sprayed with blue paint on the poles that separate the wire fence. Passing through the fence, it led us to a giant water tank. You can tell that it was completely unused since there's just graffiti all over it. And you know...gotta take advantage of a photo moment, so... :) [If you click the arrow button over and over, it looks like I'm kicking my legs. hahaha.] After looking around the area, I eventually found stairs. These long flight of stairs would lead you further down into what would be the main start of this hike. Being on a road following the path, we ran into a couple of hikers, constantly asking them where Murphy's Ranch is. BTW, we got lost multiple times. Haha. Apparently, even some people got attacked by a rattle snake. Lol. But following the road, lead us to an abandoned horse ranch. Us being busy, we thought this was it, but I remember seeing pictures of the Powerhouse and I knew this wasn't it. So we kept going... After following the trail, we realized that the Powerhouse is a lot further down the ways and we weren't prepared for this full trail. We went back. Just that took about 3 hours the whole trip. Next time, we will all trail it again and will show you guys the full trail of pictures.
Until Part 2...
