This is the hint that you are in the right spot. See that logo in the bottom right corner? Welcome to Wow Wow Waffle. This wonderful small spot is located down south in San Diego, CA where it happens to be part of a laundromat. Before I get more into detail with this place, let me just tell you about how the trip went... When we came here, we were wondering where it was, but we happened to come on the wrong day. :( **BTW, we went on a Monday..and we took a flyer (just cause it said to). To satisfy our craving, we came back the next day and finally got to see what's up with this place. If you guys aren't from San Diego, WowWowWaffle have been around at farmers markets and other events, but never really had an their own spot. Until just a couple of months ago, they were able to get the back garage of the laundromat and were able to open shop. If you are driving by and aren't sure if they are open, here is a good hit! This banner would be posted on the gate if they are open for business!! When you walk down on the side of the laundromat, you will see a cute little setting of tables and chairs up against the walls. Along with that, you have giant table covered with nice decorations and books that are quite entertaining (especially the art ones. I love those!) Surrounding that table, you even have teal colored stadium/classroom chairs with small tables. Keep on going forward and you will arrive to their kitchen aka garage aka counter aka where the magic happens!
The flavors that we got to try are as following:
Blackberry Lavender Lemonade: This is definitely a great one for me. Recently, I've been on this floral, herbaceous mood and thought that this would be a nice refreshing drink. It is! You have the traditional lemonade taste with that sweet, tart flavor of the blackberries and out of no where, you feel that lavender come over your taste buds but not in an overpowering way. It was a nice compliment and your drink smells lovely! Strawberry Lemonade: This is your typical strawberry lemonade but it's good because it's not ridiculously sweet like most strawberry lemonades. PLUS, the strawberry flavor actually comes through! Lilikoi Pineapple Lemonade: This one was different to me. Not from the islands of Hawaii or being around it so much, I personally, haven't tried Lilikoi. Kathy loved it, so it must be the right taste. It had that light pineapple taste with a flavor that reminded me of tamarind (but it's just me). It was a nice sour that had it's sweetness so it was a different taste I never had before. I would definitely try it again. The Original Waffle: OKAY! This waffle, or at least the waffles here are different. It was crazy cause there was no special fixins or whatever to ruin the flavor of this waffle, so I really got to try the waffle and how it should actually taste. IT WAS GOOOOOD! Normally when you get waffles, they are supposed to have this light crispy texture to it, but not these. They were dense and bready. Kind of reminded me of donuts or bread and they were already naturally sweet which was AWESOME. A DEF RECOMMENDATION!!!! **BTW, there are two drink options. If you spend a couple more dollars, you get to bring home the mason jar too and it comes with the good cap. The one with holes for straws! :) If you ever get the opportunity to come here, you should definitely try this. Here is the following info.
